Collisional induced fragmentation in is becoming more and more important as an analytical tool for structural analysis of macromolecular systems. The question arises what the role of gas-phase collisions can be in the examination of macromolecules. Generally, the increasing degrees of freedom in macromolecules decrease the fragmentation rate.
